“Superman Returns” Song Triplets’ Calendar Makes Almost One Billion Won, May Sell over 200,000 Copies

The adorable triplets Daehan, Mingook, Manse of “Superman Returns” are proving their immense popularity with the sales of their 2015 calendar.

After opening up pre-order on December 23, the triplets’ calendar has sold 168,000 copies on online e-commerce site Auction by December 30. The gross profits from the sales on Auction alone is almost one billion won.

As the calendars are being sold on other e-commerce sites like Gmarket and 11th St, the final sale figure is expected to be nearing 200,000 copies.

The orders for the calendar will close on December 31, and the calendars will be shipped out starting January 5.

Initially, the triplets’ father Song Il Gook was planning on making the calendar for acquaintances, but after countless requests for purchasable calendars after the broadcast, he decided to make table calendars with profits going to charity.

Song Il Gook Reveals Why He Speaks in Honorifics to His Wife

Song Il Gook revealed the reason why he still speaks formally with his wife.

Song Il Gook spoke at a press conference for KBS 2TV’s “Superman Returns” on December 29 and explained his parenting techniques.

He said, “There are really no hard-and-fast rules in parenting. My wife and I always think together, do things by trial and error, reflect, and try again, but there is just one rule. The parents must be happy. If my wife and I are happy and love each other, the children will be the same way as well.” He revealed that this is the reason why he speaks in honorifics to his wife.

Song Il Gook said, “Even when we fight, we speak in honorifics. So since we were married, we have never raised our voices to fight. Speaking in honorifics is a way of trying to stay that way. My goal in life is to first be good to my wife by being a good husband and being a dad that my children won’t be ashamed of. My work comes after that.”

He then added, “I actually travel to China every year for historical exploration. Before that, I wasn’t this mature; I only became mature in my 30s. In my 20s, you could even say I was insufferable. However, that all changed when I started traveling to China. It’s not easy to get your name known as an actor, and I thought I got lucky. But what I realized on these trips was that perhaps it’s not that I’m lucky, but that my grandfather and mother lived good lives, and that transferred onto me.”

He concluded by saying, “When I think about how I can give back to society now, I think the first thing that I can do to show my love for the country is to live happily with the family that I’ve raised. So that’s why my first rule is to love my wife, the second rule is to be a good dad, and the third rule is to be diligent to my work.”

Song Il Gook Thanks “Superman Returns” For Showing Him His Triplets’ Brotherly Bond

Actor Song Il Gook recently mentioned how he found out about the bond that his adorable triplets Dae Han, Min Gook, and Man Se share at the year-end party of the television show “Superman Returns” held last December 29.

According to Song Il Gook, he was able to see how much love his triplets have for each other through the program. “I didn’t know that the triplets’ brotherly bond is that deep. I found out how the children take care of each other through the show,” said Song Il Gook.

In “Superman Returns,” Song Il Gook’s triplets Dae Han, Min Gook, and Man Se show that they take care of each other while playing. While shooting their calendar, the three hold hands and show their warmth to each other, expressing their affection that viewers find endearing.

Lee Hwi Jae also expressed his opinion about the triplets and commented, “Dae Han, who watches (his brothers) from the sidelines, really seems like he’s the eldest son. Min Gook really has a lot of cuteness in him and Man Se is really carefree.”

“I am able to do things that I could not have done if not for the program, so I am really grateful to ‘Superman Returns,’” added Song Il Gook, expressing his gratitude to the show.

“Superman Returns” Producer Addresses Controversy Regarding Its Similarities to “Dad! Where Are We Going?”

Producer Kang Bong Kyu of “Superman Returns” has addressed the controversy regarding the show’s similarities with “Dad! Where Are We Going?“

On December 29, there was a press conference and end-of-year meeting forKBS2′s “Superman Returns.”

Kang Bong Kyu said, “When I first planned it, I did anticipate some controversy due to the similarities. However, there are so many differences from ‘Dad! Where Are We Going?’ that I don’t think I can even say them all.”

He then said, “We wanted to portray everyday life, not travel. So we tried to distance ourselves as much as possible and show the more natural sides. In that basic philosophy, the shows are different.”

Meanwhile, the 58th episode of “Superman Returns” recorded 19.6 percent according to the viewer ratings research company Nielsen Korea, which is up 2.0 percent from the previous episode. This puts “Superman Returns” at the top of the viewer rating list for its time slot for an astounding 26 weeks in a row.

“Superman Returns” Edits Out Struggles and Tries to Focus on the Bright and Innocent Children

The producer of “Superman Returns,” Kang Bong Kyu, revealed that the hardest parts of child caring were being edited out of the show.

At the end-of-the-year party for KBS 2TV’s “Superman Returns,” which was held on December 29, Producer Kang Bong Kyu said, “‘Superman Returns’ is a program that reveals all aspects of a household that one usually wants to hide, like the house, bed, or family.”

He added, “The participants in this show are what really keep the show together because they have agreed to open up their private lives.”

“Early on in the show, we often showed how the dads struggled with taking care of their children. However, as time passed by, we are editing those parts out because it is becoming repetitive,” he said. “We are trying to show more of the bright and innocent sides of the children instead, so that the audience can heal their souls while watching the show.”

Song Il Gook Thinks He’ll Get Hit If He Tells His Wife He Wants a Daughter

At a “Superman Returns” year-end party, Song Il Gook was asked if he was envious of other fathers on the show. He chose Chu Sung Hoon and Tablo, who are both raising daughters. He shared, “Honestly, I was really hoping one of the triplets would be a girl, but all three came out sons.”

He continued by saying, “I can’t seriously ask my wife about having a daughter. If I were to bring it up, I think I would get hit,” making everyone laugh.

On the episode that aired on December 28, Song Il Gook was shown spending time with Chu Sarang and completely falling for her, even saying “I want a daughter just like Sarang.”

Fans of the show will remember Song Il Gook previously mentioning that he already had names picked out for any daughters he may have: Woo Ri and Na Ra. Combined with the triplets’ names, the five names would make a patriotic cheer.

Haru Comforts Her Dad Tablo on “Superman Returns”

Tablo’s adorable daughter Haru hugged her dad to comfort him on “Superman Returns.”

The two were visiting Tablo’s father’s grave, and as Tablo showed signs of sadness, his only daughter took it upon herself to comfort her dad. Her affection extended to her grandfather as well.

She set a hot pack on his grave, concerned that her deceased grandfather would be cold in the winter weather. She didn’t stop there however. She also covered her grandfather’s grave with a warm blanket and even hugged the patch of grass.

Tablo hadn’t visited his father’s grave in over a year, and he spent some time catching up with him. However, as he spoke his mind, the expression on his eyes began to water, to which Haru stepped in and hugged her dad very affectionately.

“I can see you in Haru’s smile. I promise to keep her smiling for you,” vowed Tablo to his father.

Man Se Wakes Chu Sarang Up with a Morning Kiss on “Superman Returns”

On the December 28 broadcast of KBS2TV’s “Superman Returns,” Song Il Gook and his triplets paid a visit to Chu Sung Hoon and Chu Sarang‘s house in Tokyo.

After a fun and eventful Christmas party with cake and presents, the fathers and children gathered to the living room to sleep. The next morning, Man Se was the first one of the triplets to wake up, and he quietly walked up to Chu Sarang. Gently, he gave her noona a sweet morning kiss, while Song Il Gook could not help but smile as he looked over the lovely children.

On last week’s episode, Man Se and Chu Sarang were seen playing around and becoming friends, and Man Se even planted a kiss on Chu Sarang. Chu Sung Hoon revealed he belatedly found out about the event only after watching the broadcast.

Meanwhile, this episode marked the final appearance of Tablo and Haru on the show.

‘Haru’s Daddy’ Tablo Thanks Viewers for Supporting Them on “Superman Returns”

With the final broadcast of KBS2TV’s “Superman Returns” featuring Epik High‘s Tablo and his daughter Haru only a few hours away, Tablo has bid farewell to the supportive viewers through his Twitter.

On December 28, the singer wrote on his Twitter, “Somehow it’s already the last broadcast. I am already longing for the the past year. The many memories and people that I am thankful to – I was happy thanks to you. Happy New Year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. – Haru’s Daddy.”

For the past year and two months, Tablo has been loved by the viewers for being a friend-like father to Haru and showing his deep affection for his adorable daughter. The show will also be left longing for Haru’s sincere heart and her unconditional love for animals.

The upcoming episode will show Haru and Tablo visiting the grave of Tablo’s father.

Meanwhile, Tablo is currently busy with Epik High’s Asian concert tour and his own radio show.
